Instructions:

Before we start, a small note - This site has been tested on google chrome, and we suggest using chrome.

For members:

Your login id and password are the same used for Associate Dean's information system. Please login to be able to cancel your meal or check your month summary.

Cancel your meal:

  1. Click on cancel your meal link on the left.
  2. Select the month cycle, i.e the starting month of the current cycle.
  3. Select the meal you want to cancel.
  4. Enter the date on which you want to cancel your meal in DD/MM/YYYY format.
  5. Check your month summary (see below) to see if the meal was actually cancelled.
IMPORTANT:
  • Please be careful while cancelling. Once cancelled, your meals cannot be UNCANCELLED.
  • If not logged in, the page will prompt you to log in. Please enter your username and password.

Check your month summary:

  1. Click on See your month summary link on the left.
  2. Select the month cycle, i.e the starting month of the current cycle.

For Managers:

The mess managers will be given a password to be able to generate the count or start a new month.

Start a new month:

To be able start a month you need two files -

  1. Members_MmmYYYY
    • Try to follow the naming convention. 'Mmm' refers to the first three letters of the start month of the cycle. 'YYYY' refers to the year. For example to start a month cycle from October 10 2016 to November 9 2016, the file should be named as Members_Oct2016.csv
    • This should be in csv format. Suggestion is to use excel(windows)/numbers(mac) and then export it into csv. Make sure no extra lines/columns are present. The file has 7 columns.
    • id Breakfast Lunch Dinner start_date end_date name
      student_id Y/N Y/N Y/N YYYY-MM-DD YYYY-MM-DD student_name
    • The student_id refers to the same one used to login to the Associate Dean's information system
    • The Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner are marked Y/N depending on wheather the member has registered for the meal or not.
    • The start date and the end date would be in the format YYYY-MM-DD. These refer to the time period during which the member is registered.

    • This file can be updated by adding new members, and uploading again. This will not change the month till that point. However, you cannot remove names from here.
    • For example, if a student (id) s1 wants to register for the month on ,say , 20/10/2016 till the end, for breakfast and dinner only, then add the following lineand upload the file again.

  2. Holidays_MmmYYYY
    • The naming convention is as before.
    • The file should be in csv format, and has only one column.
    • Holidays
      YYYY-MM-DD
    • This file contains the list of holidays in YYYY-MM-DD format for the given month cycle.
    • Click here to download a sample.
    • NOTE: This file can be used to add "things" but not subtract. For example, if it turns out that you have added a day as an holiday, but it turns out it is NOT a holiday, then it is NOT possible to reverse this.

Procedure:
  1. Click on Start a new month link on the left to begin.
  2. Enter your manager password.
  3. Select the month cycle. Specify the start month of the cycle.
  4. Upload the Members and Holidays files and click "SUBMIT"

Generate count for a meal:

  1. Click on Generate count for a meal link on the left.
  2. Enter your Manager password.
  3. Enter the cycle starting month.
  4. Enter the date in 'dd/mm/yyyy' format. (Note: Chrome is very useful here.)
  5. Click "SUBMIT"
  6. You should see the list of registered members who are eating for this meal. You can also see a list of people who have taken coupons.

Generate the month summary:

  1. Click on Generate the month summary link on the left.
  2. Enter your Manager password.
  3. Enter the cycle starting month.
  4. Click "SUBMIT".

Add a coupon:

  1. Click on Add a coupon link on the left.
  2. Enter your Manager password.
  3. Select the name of the guest.
  4. Select the meal the guest requested.
  5. Enter the cycle starting month.
  6. Enter the date on which the guest would like to take the meal.
  7. Click "SUBMIT".
