The Indian Statistical Institute, funded by Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Government of India, is an Institution of National Importance by an Act of Parliament (1959). The Institute is engaged in education and research in mathematics, statistics and related fields. The major centres of the Institute are at Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. The Indian Statistical Institute has a long tradition of research in Matrix Theory. Our past luminaries in this field includes researchers such as Prof. Rajendra Bhatia, Prof. Ravindra Bapat and Prof. S. K. Mitra, to name a few.
Workshop on Numerical Ranges and Numerical Radii (WONRA) is a biennial workshop series on numerical ranges and numerical radii which began in 1992. The purpose of the workshop is to stimulate research and foster interaction between researchers interested in the subject.
