Description

After the entry of Quantum Mechanics in the early part of the last century, the role of probability in the new subject has been formulated in many avatars. But what has come to be called "Quantum Probability" has grown immensely in the last few decades. The conference will explore various related areas that have come up such as quantum stochastic calculus, quantum information, free and other notions of non-commutative independences, quantum groups and non-commutative geometry. This two and half days conference will assess the current situation and will discuss the future path of this very important field. It is being held in celebration of Professor Luigi Accardi's 70th Birthday, to honor his immense contributions to Quantum Probability. Professor Accardi is the Chairman of the Strategic Committee and was the Founding Director of The Vito Volterra Interdepartmental Centre, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy.
