He has been the Consultant to renowned Indian Industries like Reliance Industries, Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, GRASIM Industries, Thermax Limited, Kirloskar Electric Company, Vikrant Tyres, ITC, WeP, TVS SUZUKI, MICO - BOSCH, ELGI, LGB, Sanmar, AT&S, BEML, ITI to name a few and many more companies on Quality Management, Six Sigma, Quality Management System implementation and audit, Quality Improvement, etc. He has more than 500 quality improvement case studies to his credit.
Education
Professor U H Acharya graduated from Mysore University in 1979 with BSc degree in Physics, Mathematics & Statistics. He pursued post graduation in Statistics at Indian Statistical Institute and passed MStat degree with specilization in Quality Management & Operations Research in 1981. Subsequently he did the Specilist Development Program of the SQc & OR Division of the Institute and duly joined the services of the Indian Statistical Institute at Bangalore in 1984
