About Design of Experiments

Experimental design techniques, which were largely developed by R. A. Fisher during the 1920s and 1930s, are based on statistical principles. In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in the application of these techniques in various industries. G. Taguchi's work on robust design for variation reduction had a revolutionary impact on the Japanese industry. Nowadays, companies around the world employ experimental design for robust product development and problem-solving. Additionally, the academic community extensively employs experimental design to validate research findings.
