Information for participantsThe lectures will take place in the Auditorium. You can use computer facilities of the main Computer Centre (first floor) during office hours. An e-mail account called guest has been created. Ask us for the password. Of course, you may directly telnet to your home computer. Websurfing is also possible, but please do not use Kazaa, download movies/music files etc. The library is open from 9.30 am to 8.00 pm. Near the main gate, there are shops where almost everything of day-to-day use can be found. There is also a public telephone at one of them. To go out into the city, buses with numbers 222A, 226A, 405 go to Majestic and many others go to K.R. Market. These other buses carry number like 220, 221, 22, 224, 227, 228, 229 etc. The bus stop right outside ISI is called Jairamdas. From most places in the city, the best way to come back to campus is to first go to Majestic or K.R. Market and then look for the above buses. Almost all buses going to Kengeri go via Jairamdas stop. 222A leaves from Platform no. 19A at Majestic and Market buses leave from Victoria Hospital gate (at K.R. Market). You can get buses up to 10.30 pm from Majestic and 9.30 pm from K.R. Market. You can also call a taxi at: City taxi – 26679999, SRS taxi - 23404245 (recommended for round trips). The attractions of the Bangalore City are Vidhana Soudha, Tipus palace, Museum and Bull Temple to name a few. If you are naturebound, there is Lalbagh and Cubbon Park.
