Airport Taxi: As you exit the baggage claim area several touts will approach you asking you if you want a taxi. PLEASE IGNORE THEM - their rates are far higher than the usual rates. When you exit the building on your left you will find a sign saying Airport Taxi. Follow that sign and you will be lead to a fairly organised place from where you can catch a metered taxi. These taxis will have "Aiport Taxi" written on top of them. The taxi ride to ISI, ISEC or NLSIU guest house should cost around Rs 1200 and to the Hotel around Rs 1000. There is also a toll of Rs 120 which you have to pay.

Airport Bus: It is also possible to take a bus from the Airport to the city. These are quite comfortable and much cheaper but can take a little longer. What can be done is to take a bus to some point and then take an auto-rickshaw or call a taxi using Uber or Ola (see below) - but this requires a smartphone and internet. If you want to do this then please contact Ramesh Sreekantan separately as he will give you detailed instructions.

Taxis: There are several app based taxi companies. The most popular are Uber, Ola and Meru. If you do have a smart phone it is recommended that you download the apps and sign up for them. They are very cheap and convenient - often even cheaper than auto rickshaws.

Money: There are several ATMs in the airport from where you can withdraw money - so perhaps it is not necessary to convert money. As you exit the baggage claim you enter a lounge which is common to both domestic and international arrivals. There is a "Relay" book shop and next to that there is a "Kotak Mahindra Bank ATM". If you miss this and exit the terminal, you will be in a common area where people wait to receive passengers. Directly facing the exit is a "Hatti Kaapi" store and next to that is another Kotak Mahendra ATM. In the city and just outside ISI there are ATMs as well.

Transportation: For those who are staying at the Hotel or ISEC guest house, transportation to ISI in the morning and to their respective places in the evening will be arranged.
