The ECONOMIC ANALYSIS UNIT (EAU) is part of the Social Sciences Division of the Indian Statistical Institute. It was established in January 1979. It has a record of achievement in quantitative and theoretical economics, and is currently a centre for teaching and research, particularly in development economics.
In addition to teaching and guiding research, members of the faculty have also served as members of expert committees, research teams, and commissions established by Central and State Governments, by the Reserve Bank of India, and by other research institutions.
