Syllabus (Linear Algebra): Matrices and determinants. Linear equations. Basics of Polynomial rings over real and complex numbers. Vector spaces over fields. Bases and dimensions. Direct sums and quotients of vector spaces. Linear transformations and their matrices. Eigenvalues and eigen vectors. Characteristic polynomial and minimal polynomial. Bilinear forms, inner products, symmetric, hermitian forms. Unitary and normal operators. Spectral theorems.
